Reflection

Pieces I have written:
Hester's Hardships
Sisterly Love

Part I
In the first two pieces, I discussed the novel and how I related to it. The first piece on my blog is Sisterly Love and it was written to demonstrate the brush strokes. It also was a memoir, which is what we were learning about in class. I also put Hester's Hardships on my blog. In this essay, I picked a character and wrote about their personality and lifestyle. I learned how to use the brush strokes and how to relate to a novel. I have learned how to compare a character to reality and show their flaws The three things I have learned that are important are brush strokes, connecting with a novel, and how to write a memoir correctly.

Part II
I revised my plan for perfection, "Scarlet Letter" essay, and sisterly love memoir. As I read Mrs.Turner's comments she made on my pieces, it helped me think deeper and my thoughts came together. She helped me use what we learned and class and put it into my essay. I revised grammatical errors in my memoir and I used the comments Mrs.Turner left to correct and improve my "Scarlet Letter" Essay. I revised these two pieces the most and I think they are my two best pieces of work. When I revise, I have to take time away from the piece before I re read it. I can't go straight into the revision process and I also like to read it backwards so errors pop out at me.
Sisterly Love
Hester's Hardships

Part III
I read Cauley's memoir for help and it helped me realize that I shouldn't try to hold back with what I want to say. I should say exactly what I feel. I read Allie's Nature Essay and loved how she opened it with the definition of nature. This taught me a great new way to open an introduction paragraph. I also read Chelsea's Nature Essay and realized how much voice can add to a piece of writing. She did a great job of using voice. I think that these three things are very important because they add to the visualtion of the pieces of writing. These things help you see what you are reading. I learned a lot of important ways to write from these three pieces.

Stephanie,
You have been a joy to teach this semester. You are really growing as a writer! Great BLOG! You might want to fix the font. I had to read it in a different window.
